WINDOWS

Windows frame views beyond my reach…

and sometimes obscure my view…

They reflect my surroundings…

even while they offer glimpses of what is inside…

They reflect me…

and sometimes, they seem to get inside my head!

This week’s WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge involves photos of windows…many more ideas and images can be found here.

The header photo was taken through windows inside Seattle’s Central Library, designed by Rem Koolhaas.  The mountain in the first photo is Mt. Rainier; the skyscraper with clouds is in Manhattan. The Japanese building is in Bellevue, WA and the building with arched windows is on Staten Island in New York City.

These photos were taken between 2009 and 2014, with a compact digital camera (Panasonic Lumix), a camera phone (Samsung Galaxy), a DSLR (Canon Rebel), and a Sony Nex. There are lots of choices these days – many “windows” through which to compose your photographs.

    • That was on one of those rainy Seattle days…I was gazing around, looking for interesting things to shoot, glanced down and there was my reflection in a rain puddle – a few steps in the right direction and the window reflection was on my shadow in the puddle. Rain has its uses, as I know you are aware! 🙂

  1. I love looking through the weathered frame to beyond .. a loose gathering of wild flowers through a window … and the soft nibbled edged heart amongst the rain tears …

    • It IS a heart on my windshield, isn’t it? That was just the other day, on the way home from work, in traffic, looking west as a patch of sky over Puget Sound cleared.Thank you for your lovely words, Poppy!

  2. I like the farm window and peeling wood frames, the best- that’s a neat shot. Seeing through to the other side reminds me of when you use mirrors together to get a “looking into infinity” sort of reflection. Not sure if I’m describing that in a way that makes sense, doesn’t even make sense to myself!
